Facilities

The locations and facilities of APICIUS are a vital part of Florentine civic, historical, and cultural life. Housed in historic palazzi throughout the center of Florence, our facilities provide breathtaking spaces in which students breathe history and create new contributions to contemporary Florence through their studies. The locations of all Palazzi Florence Association for International Education institutions include Palazzo Guicciardini Strozzi, Palazzo Doni, Palazzo Ramirez de Montalvo, and Villa Brilli Peri.

 

Apicius is located specifically at the locations Villa Brilli Peri and Palazzo Bombicci Guicciardini Strozzi.

 

The Villa Brilli Peri facilities are equipped with the following characteristics:

- 1 pastry production lab

- 1 restaurant style line kitchen

- 2 individual workstation kitchens

- 2 demo kitchens

- 1 lecture room equipped for food appreciation

- 1 wine appreciation room 

- 1 computer and research lab classroom

- 1 computer and internet center 

- 1 workout room offering machines and classes, free access to students 

- Ganzo, student operated restaurant/cafè/exhibition space/cultural center that features:

    - Food, Wine & Hospitality Studies Library open to students and the community

    - art gallery for shows created by students and the public

    - Lecture room

    - Fully operating restaurant kitchen open 6 days a week for lunch and dinner service

    - Fully stocked bar 

    - Outdoor patio

    - Wine cellar

    - Dining area open to the public

    - Study and hangout space for students

    - Free wifi access

 

The Palazzo Bombicci Guicciardini Strozzi facilities are equipped with the following characteristics:

- Two 30 seat capacity lecture rooms

- Two 20 seat capacity lecture rooms

- One 40 seat capacity lecture room

- Sala Rosa (Pink Ballroom) 70 seat capacity for lectures and fashion shows

- One computer lab classroom

- Darkroom facilities with 18 enhancers + 20 seat capacity lecture room

- Two painting studies

- One sculpture and ceramic studio

- One tailoring lab

- One straw accessories lab

- One knitwear lab

- One leather lab

- Administrative offices and headquarters of Ingorda for Florence Campus Publishing

- Garden courtyard on the Arno River with panoramic views
