Penn State students are discovering the Florentine perspective of Italian hospitality through a specially designed semester program. Penn State News interviewed students about their spring 2015 experience in a recent online article. Phil Tatarzyn in particular referenced the “experience in the hospitality industry” of the Florence faculty and “the opportunity to speak with managers and department heads” of luxury five-star properties in the city. The Apicius hospitality division at Florence University of the Arts is currently hosting 18 students from the Penn State School of Hospitality Management for a customized semester experience with a hospitality focus and the option of an elective course in culinary arts or wine studies.
